Even as the relations between India and Pakistan is at edge over the death sentence of Kulbhushan Jadhav, the neighboring country claimed that it has arrested three Indian spies, who were allegedly targeting “Chinese engineers and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CBEC).
Geo News, a Pakistani news outlet claimed that Pakistan has arrested three terrorists- Khalil, Imtiaz and Rashid. Who were paid agents of the Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
Pakistani police claimed that the 3 suspects of RAW were assigned with new targets, such as the Combined Military Hospital Rawalakot, CPEC projects and sensitive installations in Azad Kashmir.
The three suspects were booked under the Anti-Terrorism Act and Explosives and will be produced before Pakistan’s anti-terrorism court.
Police said that the arrested suspects disclosed that Indian army officers and RAW officers, Major Ranjeet, Major Sultan and another officer were in touch with the arrested individuals.
The suspects’ men crossed the Line of Control several times to attend a meeting with the Indian Army and RAW officers regarding potential targets. The suspects are also accused of a bomb blast in Abbaspur in 2016.
Earlier this week a former Indian Navy officer, Kulbhushan Jadhav was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on the charges of Espionage.
In relation for the sentence on Jadhav, Indian government called off talks with Pakistan on maritime security, which were scheduled on April 17th.
The Indian defense ministry decided that it was not the right time to discuss security with Pakistan when, defying all international norms, Pakistan had awarded the death sentence to Jadhav.
This year the only engagement both the nations had was the Indus Water Commission talks for which an Indian delegation visited Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.
